| Bond, Richard | Former president of Kansas Senate.
Featured in "Inspired Giving" by Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (Vol 5, No 1, 2004). Bond and his wife turned to the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation for a tax vehicle that helps the Bonds fund charities while they're living and helps their family do the same after they're gone. The Bonds' gift includes an endowed Law professorship at KU, as well as contributions to groups such as YouthFriends and Kansas Children's Campaign, their church, and many nonprofit organizations. Laura McKnight, Community Foundation Sr. VP of development and attorney helped the Bonds craft their legacy. McKnight said creative bequests like the Bonds' are becoming more typical. |
