Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce PAC
Why does a Missouri group care so much about JoCo Elections?
Why does the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce PAC want to elect candidates in Kansas that favor higher taxes? Because the Chamber is pushing for a bistate tax and need pro-tax supporters in Kansas? Why are they so secretive about what they do?
... many Johnson Countians don't realize what's in the bistate proposal - and have concerns about it - because it largely has been put together behind closed doors.

While the Chamber uses this name in its contribution filings in Kansas, while they now apparently call this BizPAC? Do they have two separate PACs, or just want possible name confusion?
2002 Elections
Thank the Chamber for helping raise JoCo taxes in 2002!
Did this money all come from Missouri and the Greater Kansas City
Chamber of Commerce? How did Rose know about all this
money? |

The Chamber, or the Chamber's Public Affairs Committee particpated in the August 2002 election:
Note the Missouri Chamber gave $50,000 at a time the OP Chamber gave $500, and the Lenexa Chamber game $500. These groups don't even agree on exactly where the $10,000 came from that Larry Winn received for the Committee for Excellence. Unfortunately, there is no controlling legal authority that will take any action on this. |
| Fred Logan, who is one of the co-chairs for the JoCo Committee for Excellence, is on the Chamber's 2004 Board of Executive Committee. Logan serves as the Vice Chair, Johnson County Business Leadership Council. |
| Steve Cloud's Johnson County
Republicans for Education PAC $20,000 from Greater KC Chamber PAC was sent to Steve Cloud to Raise JoCo Taxes, and support candidates likely to support raising taxes |

Fred Logan's Committee for Excellence received $10,000 from the Chamber (but its PAC?) for 2002 elections. Any connection to $184 million school bond issue in Shawnee Mission in 2004?

Is this the Bill Lyons that is on the Arts Council of Metro KC?

Is Terry Dunn hoping for construction contracts for Dunn Construction, like from the $184 million Shawnee Mission School District bond issue? See additional $5000 contribution below.

Why does Applebee's CEO Lloyd L Hill work behind the scenes to raise taxes in Kansas?

Janine M Hron at this address was the VP of Marketing for Union Station and paid $115,437 according to 2001 IRS 990.

Why doesn't Mr. Levi live in Missouri instead of trying to raise taxes in Kansas? Mr. Levi is a David Adkins supporter, and

Is Steve Cloud paying his IBT "dues" to the Chamber to get another $20,000 contribution to his Johnson County Republicans for Education PAC so he control JoCo and Kansas Republican politics?

Polsinelli Shalton & Welte is Larry Winn's law firm, which was involved in the Committee for Excellence and the $10,000 sent from the Chamber to help elected pro-tax school candidates in Kansas in 2002.
Expenditures

Why was the Chamber so interested in these school races?

Why does the Chamber care so much about Blue Valley school races? The Blue Value First Committee report shows the "ring leaders" of JoCo politics quite well.

2004 Elections -- Kansas Connections to GKCCC Chamber PAC
Is there a connection to Fred Logan's (and Larry Winn's) Committee for Excellence that pushed for $184 million school bond issue in Shawnee Mission?
Is there a connection between the Chamber and Steve Cloud's Johnson County Republicans for Education and Cloud's GOP Club of JoCo that he uses to control the JoCo and Kansas Republican parties?
